Shares of the purse designer tanked $1.98, or 14%, to a record low of $12.16 Wednesday after the company reported a break-even quarter on an adjusted basis, missing analysts' forecasts calling for a profit a 2 cents a share. The disappointment stretched further, as Vera Bradley also cut its forecast for profit this year.
