Vivendi revenues up 5.9% in Q4, net profit falls 17.8%

(Telecompaper) Telecom and media group Vivendi reported revenues up 5.9 percent to EUR 8.24 billion in the fourth quarter of 2012, driven by a 25.7 percent increase to EUR 1.36 billion at games subsidiary Activsion Blizzard. Vivendi's operating margin grew by 8.6 percent to EUR 3.77 billion. The group reported EBITA down 4.2 percent to EUR 952 million and an adjusted net profit down 17.8 percent to EUR 356 million. Vivendi's French operator, SFR, saw its sales fall 8.7 percent to EUR 2.78 billion in the fourth quarter. It made a EUR 50 million EBITA loss, compared to a EUR 393 million profit a year earlier. Vivendi chairman Jean-Francois Dubos said that all subsidiaries reached their outlook for the full year, despite a challenging economic environment. He added that the group's ongoing strategic review would define when appropriate the right paths to increase overall value and best serve shareholder interests.
