Vodafone Spain to use Nagra's hybrid OTT and DTT service

2014-10-14 09:32:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Vodafone Spain has selected Nagra's QuickStart Hybrid product to enable a combined over-the-top (OTT) and digital terrestrial television (DTT) offering. Nagra, the Kudelski Group's digital TV business, said its end-to-end QuickStart Hybrid product will allow Vodafone Spain's fixed line and mobile customers to enjoy a line-up of premium OTT TV content offered by a third party (Canal+ Yomvi) on the device of their choice be it a TV, PC, smartphone or tablet while providing access to a selection of DTT channels which will launch later this year. Vodafone Spain's new offering, called Vodafone Box, delivers advanced third party (Canal+ Yomvi) services such as live TV, subscription VOD, transactional VOD, catch-up TV and a new user interface bundled in a SmarDTV HD set-top box. Nagra added that Vodafone Spain is the first customer to deploy its QuickStart product in Europe.
