(Telecompaper) Vodafone Group is considering making a bid for German cable operator Kabel Deutschland, reports the Financial Times. According to unnamed people with knowledge of the matter, Vodafone has not made a decision nor approached the German company, although a possible bid has been discussed by senior managers. In 2012, Vodafone acquired Cable & Wireless Worldwide, giving it a fibre network in the UK. After Vodafone announced its Q3 results recently, CEO Vittorio Colao said that it would continue looking at the European cable market and would either agree commercial deals with cable firms, invest in its own fibre networks or look to acquire existing assets. News of a possible bid for Kabel Deutschland was first reported by Germany's 'Manager Magazin'.
