Volvo Poised to Relieve Two Big Headaches for Drivers

What would you consider the biggest annoyances drivers encounter? Tailgating, getting lost, being stuck in traffic, running low on empty? How about finding a parking space? And then having to squeeze into a spot without bumping another car or bumping into an unseen post? Volvo Car Group is working with a partner, ParkMe, to find parking spaces in crowded locations and to allow the driver and passengers to exit the car while it safely parks itself. Autonomous parking is a concept technology that relieves drivers of the time-consuming task of finding a vacant parking space, said Thomas Broberg, a senior safety advisor at Volvo Car Group. The driver just drops the vehicle off at the entrance to the car park and picks it up in the same place later.
