Volvo's new-car sales rose 2.4 percent in September as gains in the U.S. helped offset a fifth straight month of decline in China, the world's biggest auto market, the automaker said in a statement . Volvo, owned by China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, sold 45,539 cars in the month, underpinned by an 18 percent increase in the U.S. and a 15 percent rise in its Swedish home market.
