WSJ: Weather Channel faces financial storm

The reason for the gloomy outlook is the money it gets from pay-TV providers that carry Weather Channel isn't guaranteed in the age of cutting to cord, WSJ noted. For example, Verizon Communications Inc. recently cut Weather Channel from its FiOS TV service.
