Reservations We have negotiated a discounted rate of $159 plus tax which is available through Feb. 24, 2014. Resort Fee There is a nightly resort fee of $24 per room. This includes all gratuities for the staff; wireless internet in the guest room; coffee and tea in the guest room; morning newspaper; use of the gym and participation in all fitness classes; business center access; and parking. Annual Golf Outing The golf outing will be held on the Ocean Course at the resort on Wednesday, March 12 with a 1:00 p.m. tee time.  Please be at the club no later than 12:30 p.m.  The greens fee for the tournament is $185. Transportation Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is a 30-minute drive from the Jacksonville International Airport. The resort does not provide shuttle service, but to take a shuttle service to and from the resort, the resort recommends that you contact East Coast Transportation at 888-932-3932 which will provide a sedan for $90 one way. Or, you can make reservations online with Super Shuttle at www.supershuttle.com for $72 one way. Tentative Agenda Monday, March 10 1:30 p.m. Education Committee Meeting National Waste & Recycling Association Director of Education Sheila Alkire will lead this discussion on the 2014 action plan for education. Attendees will be able to offer input and suggestions on education topics and be considered for committee involvement and subject matter expert positions. Specific topics will include: Discussion of WasteExpo 2014 Education Sessions Online Course Development for Driver's Safety Certification and Waste 101 Series Quarterly webinar series featuring recycling/resource recovery and safety 1:30 p.m. Recycling Committee Meeting Have a voice in the Association's direction on recycling and discuss the future positions that we will take on emerging recycling and sustainability issues. Attendees to this session will also have a chance to join subcommittees and network with other major players in the recycling space. Some of the items to be covered include: Green Fence Initiative Municipal RFPs with respect to recycling 1:30 p.m. Supplier Advisory Board Meeting   4:00 p.m. Safety Seminar Who goes to jail when EPA or OSHA comes knocking? What are the “red flags” that will cause the inspector to dig even deeper? What’s the best way to approach fixing a violation? Anne Germain, Director of Technology and Phil Hagan, Director of Safety for the National Waste & Recycling Association will answer these questions and provide insight into environmental and safety practices that could keep you out of jail (and/or save you a lot of money!). 5:30 p.m. Industry Networking Hour Join Association staff and other event attendees for cocktails and snacks and get to know other industry professional from all across the country. Tuesday, March 11 8:30 a.m.  Hauler's Roundtable The National Waste & Recycling Association has developed ANSI standards addressing industry safety issues, a new driver safety certification program is near completion and a series of roundtable discussions will be developed to bring stakeholders from collections, manufacturers and technology together to identify safety issues that can be addressed by technology or other mechanisms in an effort to make our industry safer. The panelists will be: George Paturalski, Corporate Director of Risk Management, Heil Environmental W.A. (Billy) Martin, Safety Director, Waste Management Garry Mosier, VP Operations, Alliance Wireless Technologies, Inc. National Waste & Recycling Association CEO Sharon Kneiss and Director of Membership Jonathan Sper, will discuss the latest association news and new programs such as the Member Buy from Member program, the Member Concierge initiative and membership trends and goals. All attendees are welcome.   9:30 a.m.  WasteExpo Update Are you coming to the 2014 WasteExpo?
