Executives from Switch did not have Michigan on their radar for a new data center until Roger Norman, the owner of the former Steelcase pyramid, mentioned his recent acquisition in a conversation with Rob Roy, the CEO and founder of the Nevada data center giant. That offhand comment led to a visit to Grand Rapids during ArtPrize nine weeks ago, Adam Kramer, senior vice president of strategy for Switch, said in a telephone interview with MLive and the Grand Rapids Press on Monday, Nov. 30. "We fell in love with Michigan," said Kramer, who said they were unprepared for Grand Rapids' vibrant downtown and quality of life.
