They don't hover, but that's the least of the controversy surrounding the coveted two-wheeled, self-balance scooters known as "hoverboards." Banned by airlines, New York City and the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show, hoverboards - which can sell for anywhere from $200 to more than $1,500 - remain one of the most wanted gifts of the holiday season in North Jersey and around the country despite some fears of fire and injury.
