Whirlpool Corp. names Marc Bitzer as president, COO, effective immediately

He joined Whirlpool Europe in 1999 and was named vice chairman of the North American and European businesses in Nov. 2014. Whirpool vice chairman Michael Todman will also begin his planned retirement at the end of 2015 after 22 years with the company.
