Whistleblower suit brought against Universal Stainless & Alloy unit

The U.S. Department of Labor has filed a lawsuit against a unit of Bridgeville-based Universal Stainless and Alloy, alleging the company violated whistleblower protection provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act. According to the department, a furnace operator at the company's North Jackson Specialty Steel facility in North Jackson, Ohio, was terminated for reporting unsafe working conditions at the mill.
