Prominent Austinite Harry Whittington has been in the spotlight for quite a few things, most notably being on the wrong side of a shotgun while hunting with former Vice President Dick Cheney . The real estate lawyer has owned several blocks of downtown Austin and he often makes headlines for a 15-year battle with City Hall spurred when Austin condemned land he owned on East Fifth Street for a convention center parking lot.
