With Wells Fargo having recently promoted a GE Capital veteran on its senior executive team, the San Francisco banking giant was reported to be the leading bidder for GE Capital --possibly as good an outcome for GE Capital employees as they could hope for given Wells Fargo's record with previous acquisitions. The Wall Street Journal reported Monday, citing unnamed sources, that Wells Fargo is a big contender for GE Capital's commercial lending and leasing operations.
