Wintershall drills Skarfjell appraisal well in North Sea

German crude oil and natural gas producer Wintershall has commenced drilling of the Skarfjell appraisal well in the north-eastern North Sea, with the aim of proving oil in the upper Jurassic Intra Heather sandstones.
