Footwear retailer Steven Madden has struggled to find profit growth in FY2014, due in part to weak per-store sales productivity in its retail network. That being said, the market seems to like the company's moves on the business development front, pushing its stock price higher subsequent to the announcement of its latest corporate acquisition.
