Woolworths Q3 sales hit by falling fuel prices

Woolworths Ltd. said Wednesday its third quarter sales fell 1.6% from a year earlier to 14.96 billion Australian dollars because of sliding prices and volumes in it gasoline division. Chief Executive Grant O'Brien said the gasoline division was impacted by changes to the terms of its alliance with Caltex Australia Ltd. , after which sales from Caltex operated sites were no longer attributed to Woolworths.
