Yahoo Japan agrees to buy eAccess for JPY 324 billion

(Telecompaper) Yahoo Japan has agreed to acquire 99.68 percent of the shares (33.29% of voting rights) of eAccess from Softbank for JPY 324 billion. The deal is scheduled to complete at start-June. eAccess and Willcom are scheduled to merge effective 01 June. Yahoo Japan's acquisition of the shares of eAccess is conditional upon this merger being completed. Yahoo Japan is making the acquisition to boost its mobile internet operations under the slogan 'Smart Devices First'.
