No matter how you cut it, the West Coast premiere of “Rise of the Jack O'Lanterns” is a lesson in just how spooky pumpkins can be when carved and illuminated. The walk-through Halloween attraction features more than 5,000 jack-o'-lanterns created by professional artists artfully displayed in the Rose Garden at Descanso Gardens , after-hours from Oct. 3 through Nov. 2. Along the scenic trail, all-ages visitors can see everything from intricately carved classic movie monsters to characters from AMC's “ The Walking Dead ,” Disney princesses to large-scale dinosaurs, sports figures to iconic Halloween images and even the Kardashians.
