Airbus GroupA handson technical role providing operational support to the companys large number of Oracle Database systems mainly running within a clustered Unix environment. There are also a number of Oracle databases running on Windows platform as well as a significant number of SQLServer databases. The role involves working as part of a team with other Database and Application specialists to ensure service levels are maintained.Main duties to include are installs, upgrades, oracle patching, backups, monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning and daytoday activities in support of the business.Your ResponsibilitiesTasks Work with IT teams to support data collection, integration, and retention requirements based on the input collected with the business. Work in iterative processes with the Business and validates findings. Use of appropriate algorithms to discover patterns. Work with the data steward to ensure that the information used is in compliance with the regulatory and security policies in place. Collaborate with the data steward to ensure that the information used follows the compliance, access management, and control policies and that it meets the qualification and assurance requirements of the Business. Presents and depicts the rationale of their findings in easy to understand terms for the business. Communicate and works with business subject matter experts. Provide ongoing tracking and monitoring of performance decision systems and statistical models. Troubleshoots and implements enhancements and fixes to systems as needed.Essential Bachelor degree in mathematics, statistics or computer science or related field Master degree preferred. Relevant quantitative and qualitative research and analytics experience. Unix, Oracle Tools, PLSQL, Netbackup.Desirable Experience of Oracle License management, SAP, Postgres, SQLServer and Netapp would be advantageous. Oracle to buy NetSuite for USD 9.3 billion

(Telecompaper) Oracle is accelerating its push into cloud services with the agreed takeover of NetSuite for USD 9.3 billion. Oracle said NetSuite pioneered the idea of cloud computing for business applications already in 1998. NetSuite provides a suite of cloud-based financials, ERP and omnichannel commerce software that services more than 30,000 companies and organizations in more than 100 countries. The acquisition was approved by a committee of independent Oracle directors and is expected to add immediately to the company's adjusted earnings. Oracle is offering USD 109 per share for NetSuite, a 19 percent premium on the share price the day before the announcement. Oracle aims to complete the takeover before the end of the year.
