Major retailers are facing a thorny problem in Southern California as a shortage of shipping containers and possible labor unrest have led to delays through the Los Angeles/Long Beach port, according to a report by Reuters. Already, the report said, Wal-Mart diverted some shipments north, to Oakland, California, while other retailers, such as Macy's , Nordstrom , JC Penney , and others consider how best to proceed without coming up short in the next few months.
