Time Warner Cable Inc. on Thursday reported a drop in second-quarter profit as higher costs offset a boost in subscriber growth. The cable company reported a 7.2 percent drop in profit to $463 million, or $1.62 per share.

Bunge quarterly profit misses forecasts on lower agribusiness results

Bunge Ltd, one of the world's largest agricultural commodities traders, reported a lower quarterly profit on weak year-on-year returns in its agribusiness segment and poor food and ingredients margins. The White Plains, New York-based company reported a net second-quarter profit of $72 million, or 50 cents share, compared with $272 million, or $1.81 a share, a year earlier.

Texas Instruments Q3 View Misses, Cites Comms Weakness

Analog chip titan Texas Instruments this afternoon reported Q2 revenue just slightly below consensus, but beat on the bottom line, forecast this quarter's revenue and earnings below consensus, citing in particular a breakdown in demand in the communcations market. Revenue in the three months ended in June fell 1.8%, year over year, to $3.23 billion, yielding EPS of 65 cents.

Southwest Airlines meets 2Q earnings expectations, misses revenue forecasts

The Dallas-based company said it had net income of 90 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and costs related to mergers and acquisitions, were $1.03 per share.
