Tibco sharpens mobile apps for its Tibbr enterprise social software

Tibco is revamping and extending the mobile access to its Tibbr enterprise social networking software, adding support for more smartphones and tablets, and upgrading its mobile user interfaces and functionality. Tibbr, which has iOS, Android and BlackBerry applications, is broadening its support for newer BlackBerry devices -- the Z10 and Q10 smartphones and the Playbook tablets.

Vehicle owners have a high interest in technology applications related to fuel economy, device/app linking for smartphones, wireless connectivity, natural language voice activation and a variety of infotainment features for their next vehicle, according to a new J.D. Power and Associates study. Fuel economy and energy efficiency are continuing to show strong interest from car shoppers. Interest drops a bit after pricing is revealed, but not as much as other application categories. It may have something to do with slowly rising fuel prices and increasing expectations consumers have about smartness and efficiency being built into everything they buy these days. Vehicle owners have high expectations for their smartphone to easily integrate with the system in their vehicle. Owners are keeping their vehicle longer, which sometimes clashes with new technology integration and there are limits to how much their willing to pay. J.D. Power and Associates 2013 U.S. Automotive Emerging Technologies Studydraws from responses made by more than 16,758 vehicle owners. It includes 22 primary technologies, each with related secondary technologies such as analyses on infotainment/connectivity safety- and energy-related emerging features. Theres a chart featuring the top five applications in the definitely would or probably would purchase in their next vehicle both before and after prices are revealed. Three of the categories made both charts, pointing to a good marketing opportunity for OEMs and their dealer partners.
