Mobile networks using a mixture of radio sizes could cut energy usage by 50%
2015-02-02 03:19:33| Telecom - Topix.net
According to a collaborative research project called IntelliSpektrum today's ultra-broadband mobile networks can make significant energy savings and performance gains by deploying a mix of macro and small cell radio base stations. The IntelliSpektrum project brought together Bell Labs, the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics, the Fraunhofer Heinrich-Hertz-Institute and Intel Mobile Communications GmbH.
LTE-Advanced MIMO Radio Channel Emulator supports 3GPP testing.
2015-01-30 14:30:41| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today
Allowing users to test 3GPP features in multi-mode base stations and mobile devices, Propsim F32 supports testing of all LTE-Advanced Carrier Aggregation schemes defined by 3GPP (up to 5 component carriers) with mobility and handovers schemes. Frequency range support up to 6 GHz enables users to test mobile devices and network equipment for any LTE or LTE-U band as well as WLAN frequencies above 5 GHz. Users can also test products for 3D MIMO in 16 x 8 bi-directional set-ups.

Beyond Today's Radio Spectrum Transmitting Wireless Data On Higher Frequencies
2015-01-30 05:19:39| rfglobalnet Home Page
Everything we do that requires a wireless connection uses the radio spectrum. We’re able to harness radio waves to listen to music in the car or stream Netflix from the 4G network on our smartphones. Each application is assigned it’s own frequency within the spectrum. The problem is that space is limited and our demand is only increasing. But what if we weren’t bound by this crowded spectrum?
