Waynesboro police charged a Staunton man after they say he repeatedly choked and assaulted his girlfriend while they were at work on Wednesday night. Quentin Wendell Woodson, 47, is facing a felony strangulation charge and a misdemeanor assault and battery of a family or household member charge after police say he continuously attacked his live-in girlfriend at the Ntelos office complex, 1154 Shenandoah Village Drive, where they both work on the night cleaning crew.

Joseph McEnroe 's defense attorney conceded to a King County jury that he indeed helped his girlfriend kill six members of her family on Christmas Eve 2007, but claimed he was coerced. Officers in Battle Creek and Emmett Township began investigating two purse-snatchings Sunday at the Meijer Inc. store at 6405 Beckley Road in Emmett Township and later at the Meijer at 2191 W. Columbia Ave. in Battle Creek. Officers from both departments obtained photos of the suspect's car from surveillance tapes but could not find it Sunday.
