NRC ending enhanced scrutiny at Browns Ferry

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission said Monday it's returning the three-reactor plant to a normal inspection routine after more than four years of heightened scrutiny. A statement from NRC regional administrator Victor McCree says the three-reactor plant operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority has made significant improvements in safety.

NRC taps new inspector for Browns Ferry

The federal agency says Adam Ruh is taking over the position at the Tennessee Valley Authority plant in north Alabama. Ruh was a civilian engineer with the Navy before joining NRC in 2012.
