Main responsibilities For our activities in ESAC, we are currently looking for a Software PA Engineer 20hrsweek. Tasks and Responsibilities Contribute to the establishing of the programmatic and technical software PA requirements within the framework of the ESA Software policy. Evaluate Contractors plans, technical specifications and efforts proposed for the execution of SW PA programme Monitor and evaluate SW PA analyses, reports and technical notes Participate to project reviews, meetings, Configuration Control Boards, Nonconformance Review Boards and Software Review Boards Prepare design tradeoffs, analyses and reports using metrics to support project decisions Participate to software product evaluations and process assessments Establish and maintain databases to track NCRs, RFWs, action items etc. as required. In close liaison with SCIOQ and in collaboration with the projectmission managers the PAQA service includes the following tasks Establish the PA requirements and PA plan relevant to the project in compliance with the ESA SW Engineering and Product Assurance standards Guide and monitor the implementation of PA requirements by the project in order to ensure their proper implementation Monitor and control the performanceeffectiveness of the processes used during the development of the software Maintain PAQA processes and procedures relevant to the project including PA documentation Participate in inspections and reviews scrums, design, code, documentation, of the project and directing the necessary preventive or corrective actions Define and ensure the correct application of problem reporting procedures Define, implement and perform a metrication program to manage the development and to assess the quality of the development processes and the products Implement and perform process assessment and improvement Perform project audits and assessments specifically for quality and configuration practices Provide support to SCIOQ in PAQA aspects, such as Participate in project reviews when requested Provide feedback on the projects by monthly report Develop and maintain PA procedures and practices applicable to SCIO Provide feedback and support to SCIOQ in configuration management aspects Spot check configuration management practices on all missions, ensuring the correct application of the configuration management procedures Provide support to the development and maintenance of configuration control procedures and practices applicable to SCIO Feedback on risk management project status, performed by cross reference to the SCIO risk policy Maintain methods and tools relevant to PAQA activities e.g. Sonar tool, verifying and reporting their correct use by the project Support test preparation data, HW, procedures, etc., witness testing and problem reports registers Support TRR and TRBs and the setup and maintenance of the test environment when needed Support configuration manager in preparing testing and deploying software releases Support the configuration manager with the development, implementation and maintenance of configuration control procedures Ensure document management process e.g. releases is in conformance with the Document management plan Support the Risk management process per mission, including participation in regular risk assessment meetings Support the selection and implementation of the development environment and verify availability to developers and users on time. Ideal candidate PhD or Masters degree in software engineering or computer science with background on space engineering Minimum 4 years of relevant professional work experience Familiarity with space product assurance practices together with a good working knowledge of appropriate working tools Practical experience in applying ECSS SW standards Knowledge and proven experience in the following areas Configuration management of complex systems Software engineering and PA in critical applications Professional experience on SW engineering and productquality assurance Experience on ESA software engineering processes and standards is an asset Experience in tools as JIRA, Sonarq, Confluence, Jenkins, Git, Nexus, Maven is an asset Experience in the development, operation and maintenance of ESA ground segment facilities and some scientific background is an asset. Followingup of the progress of the procurement actions and contracts, and keeping track of status and maintaining the current actual and forecasting in the appropriate ESA tools Creating related objects in ESAp, maintaining corresponding information in local applications as required and ensuring the correctness and coherence of related information Monitoring and controlling of timely implementation of actions related to procurement and contractual matters, including monitoring of financial commitments, payment milestones and invoicing Supporting industrial invoicing process and payment verification and control Supporting programme inventory and export control activities, maintain relevant inventory databases In the field of programme industrial return Initiation and coordination of the periodic updating of relevant Industrial Return data base to reflect the current commitments status and the industrial policy forecast for planned activities Verification of coherence with ESA corporate Industrial Return data Maintenance of list of specific compensation or improvement measures and followup the implementation Verification of coherence of proposed procurement actions with the planned industrial return policy targets of the programmeproject, including the compensation measures Support to programmeproject level risk management Maintaining up to date the related data, performing data analysis, identifying deviations w.r.t. planstargets and production of associated reports to the responsible management and to the concerned customers when relevant Operation of the associated management information tools and system databases Support to the responsible entity in the definition of new and improvement of existing processes and tools and production of related documents Support the execution of the directorates Risk Management process. Ideal candidate The candidate should have a Masters in Engineering or equivalent or MBA or equivalent University degree from a recognised Institution of secondary studies or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, with minimum 4 years of relevant experience Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken, knowledge of another official ESA language is an asset Experience in controlling andor management of activities and resources in aerospace industry. For some tasks knowledge of FinanceAccounting may be required Highly proficient in the use of modern activities and resource management support toolsdatabases of standard office automation support software packages including in particular advance usage of Excel MsOffice and in particular advanced use of Excel Experience as user of SAP and in particular ECC and SRM modules and familiarity with relevant ESA corporate applications e.g. ESAp is an asset Ability to rapidly understand and adapt to ESA specific context and environment including ESA corporate IT applications.
