Cisco quarterly results fall as expected, sees further sales drop in Q1

(Telecompaper) Cisco reported a further fall in revenues and profit in the company's fiscal fourth quarter to July. Revenue fell 4 percent year-on-year to USD 12.1 billion, and net profit was down 14 percent to USD 2.4 billion or USD 0.48 per share, in line with the company's outlook. Results also fell over the full year, with revenue down 2 percent to USD 48.0 billion.

HTC reduces losses in Q2, sales up 11% vs Q1

(Telecompaper) HTC narrowed its losses in the second quarter thanks to a continued reduction in costs. The net loss reduced to TWD 2.0 billion from TWD 3.1 billion a year ago, and the operating loss narrowed to TWD 2.2 billion from TWD 4.2 billion.

Sprint posts first net profit in 3 years, higher revenue in Q1

(Telecompaper) Sprint posted its first net profit in three years in its fiscal first quarter to June, and EBITDA rose to its highest level in nearly 10 years. Revenues were also up slightly year-on-year, but customer growth continues to lag its rivals in the US mobile market.

Vodafone keeps outlook as organic service revenue lifts 2.2% in Q1

(Telecompaper) The Vodafone Group gave a trading update for fiscal first quarter to June, showing revenues fell 3.3 percent to EUR 11.5 billion. In Europe, revenues were down 4.8 percent, while elsewhere revenue increased by 1.2 percent. Service revenue declined 4.6 percent (Europe -6.2%, elsewhere +1.3%), but on an organic basis (excluding India) showed an increase of 2.2 percent (Europe +0.8%, elsewhere +7.9%). Ignoring the effect in Europe of regulation, growth would have been at 1.8 percent, Vodafone said.
