LTE revenue reaches USD 6 bln worldwide in Q1

(Telecompaper) Global LTE mobile infrastructure revenue is forecast to peak at USD 23.3 billion in 2015 and then start to decline as a result of diminishing rollouts, according to a report by Infonetics Research. As the market reached the peak of LTE roll-outs, LTE is now set to perform at USD 6 billion a quarter for some time as operators complete their major remaining rollouts, researchers believe. LTE revenue totaled USD 6 billion worldwide in Q1, a 1 percent sequential decline.

Ziggo's TV market share amounts to almost 54% in Q1 2015

(Telecompaper) The Dutch TV market reported 10,000 net additions during the first quarter of 2015, to end the quarter with 7.87 million subscribers. The growth was driven by 0.6 percent increase in digital TV subscribers, which was enough to off-set a 4.0 percent decrease in analogue-only subscribers, according to Telecompaper's latest quarterly report on the Dutch Television Market. The growth in digital TV was driven by IPTV via DSL or fibre, which was enough to off-set a decrease in digital TV via cable customers.

Wearable market up 200% sequentially to 3.8 mln units in Q1

(Telecompaper) The worldwide wearables market recorded its eighth consecutive quarter of steady growth in the first quarter of 2015, according to a report by the International Data Corporation (IDC). Vendors shipped a total of 11.4 million wearables in Q1, a 200.0 percent increase from the 3.8 million wearables shipped in Q1 2014. Fitbit was market leader with 3.9 million units shipped and a 34.2 percent market share, followed by Xiaomi with 2.8 million and 24.6 percent, Garmin with 0.7 million and 6.1 percent, Samsung with 0.6 million and 5.3 percent, Jawbone with 0.5 million and 4.4 percent, and others with 2.9 million and 25.4 percent.
