The successful candidate will join the Products Space Physics Engineering France department. You will join the Product Operations group and you will rapidly be responsible for one or several software products which help with the preparation and execution of scientific, telecommunication and observation satellite operations. You will analyse customer needs, define and perform revisions, and provide support to entry into service in France and at users. Based on your good knowledge of technologies, you will perform the synthesis of needs, understand the competition and the market, define the roadmap of products and you will be in charge of obtaining customer adhesion.You will animate the team and develop its privileged position at the centre of many processes.These products are part of a software suite which requires technical, architectural, functional and ergonomical coherency. In particular it is made up of MOSAIC automation of satellite or ground segment operations, TELMASOLEA telemeasuring analysis, DALI intersite alignment in real and nonreal time, SYSTEMA Space Engineering and FOST satellite database. These products are used by internal customers at AIRBUS Defence Space sites and are sold internationally.These products are developed within the framework of the advanced AGILE methodology.This position will require security clearance or eligibility for clearance by the recognised authorities.In this context, you will be in charge of the following activities Management of the development team, Establishment, then implementation of the roadmap, Definition of RDRT axes, Demonstrating knowledge of all the customer functions activities, processes, interfaces, etc., Specification, architecture, coding, validating upgrades, Preparation of financial and technical proposals for the customer, Deployment of products within Airbus DS or to an integration platform, Customer support and training, Reporting to the customer and management. You enjoy software development and you have already led a major one. Airbus Defence Space is looking for 2 Payload Product RD Managers to join the existing team based in Portsmouth. The roles will require the candidate to identify and manage product and payload developments and offer a vision of satellite payloads for the future. The succesful candidates will integrate a transnational team split in three different sites Toulouse , Portsmouth and Stevenage that interface with internal engineering teams but also with customers and suppliers. Heshe will be asked to chair customer or supplier discussions. Because of this the roles have a wide visibility and could provide interesting career opportunities. The roles have indirect responsibility. No direct reports but require a strong project management skills back ground with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders. Design of advanced payload architecture for telecoms satellites. Identification of future payload products e.g. RF, digital, optical. Development follow up which includes road mapping, choice of suppliers etc. Support advanced bid teams in cost and product evaluation in line with customer and business expectations. Mandatory skills Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline. Proven experience in advanced payload design incorporating RF and or Digital knowledge. Proven leadership experience with demonstrable evidence of influencing and negotiating at engineering, supplier and customer level. Proven project management experience across a complex transnational environment. This role can be based either in Hawthorn, Stevenage, Portsmouth, Newport, Toulouse, Elancourt. The purpose of the role is to provide a development opportunity in the role of Product Management with a path to becoming a Product Manager. The role is initially to have a rotation with the difference product areas and support for the various products offered from Secure Communications to the Government UK and ROW markets. The role will allow the Junior Product Manager to experience working with each of the product domains over period between 18 and 24 months gaining valuable insight and experience to apply in a Product Management role. This role will provide experience from monitoring of existing products with a view to increasing the user experience, profitability, and quality of service to developing new products for the business and enhancing the portfolio. You will develop products from new ideas. You will develop a unique blend of business and technical understanding a bigpicture vision, and should possess the drive to make that vision a reality. You should enjoy spending time with customers and understanding their problems, as well as finding innovative solutions for the broader market. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Supporting the Product Management team within product areas. Managing the entire product lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical activities. Capture customer requirements and needs. Analyse competitive offers and develop a product benchmark. Specifying new services, features, products and processes. Developing and implementing a gotomarket plan, working with Marketing and Intelligence Pricing teams. Launch and rollout product plan and schedule in close partnership with internal stakeholders.
