China Mobile's FY profit up 2.7% on data revenue growth

(Telecompaper) China Mobile posted a profit of CNY 129.3 billion for 2012, up 2.7 percent from CNY 125.87 billion in 2011. Operating revenues grew by 6.1 percent to CNY 560.4 billion with data services revenue rising 19.4 percent to CNY 166.35 billion and voice revenues growing 1.1 percent to CNY 368.03 billion. EBITDA was CNY 253.6 billion, up 1.0 percent year-on-year, while EBITDA margin stood at 45.3 percent, down 2.2 percentage points. Capex in 2012 stood at CNY 127.4 billion and in 2013 the company has budgeted CNY 190.2 billion for capex. China Mobile ended the year with 710 million total customers, up 9.3 percent, including 87.93 million 3G customers.
