With schools reopening across the UK this month, pupils in North Lanarkshire can now experience what it’s like to be in outer space, under the ocean, on a World War 1 battlefield or even on top of Everest - thanks to a new initiative which is the first of its kind in the UK. Moorland High School teachers 'let pupils get drunk on supervised curry night'

Underage students at a boarding school were allowed to get drunk at a curry house during a supervised school trip, a tribunal has heard. The teenagers from Moorland High School, in Clitheroe, Lancashire, were said to have drank wine, lager and spirits as they ate a meal at an Indian restaurant, alongside three staff members, the hearing was told.
