'Easy button' could help brokers manage direct MLS feeds

Brokers whose multiple listings services have signed direct feed agreements with Homes.com, Zillow and Trulia could now have a new, easy way to manage listings that go to those portals and see which ones give them the most bang for their buck. Homes.com, the nation's fourth most popular real estate site, is the latest third-party portal to sign on to a new "permission gateway" from real estate tech firm Clareity Security .

Riverside home sells for $19 million, bypasses MLS

Less than a month into 2015, Greenwich's real estate market has already seen two homes sell for more than $10 million, the most recent of which closed last Thursday when 25 Pilot Rock Lane sold for $19 million--without ever being formally listed. The three-bedroom home, which sits on 1.9 acres of waterfront property in Riverside's prestigious Harbor Point Association, is the most expensive closing in town since the record-breaking $120 million transaction at 499 Indian Field Road last April.

More agents getting access to new-homes data through their MLS

More than 45,000 real estate professionals who are members of Mid-Atlantic multiple listing service Metropolitan Regional Information Systems Inc. now have free access to a trove of new-home listings and specifics about developments under construction. Homebuilder marketing company Builders Digital Experience Inc. is providing MRIS members with a branded "new home channel" that's accessible through their MLS interface.

Where an MLS sees free leads for members, some brokers see competition

The largest multiple listing service in New England has rolled out a public-facing listing site with the participation of most, but not all, of its broker members. Shrewsbury, Massachusetts-based Multiple Listing Service, Property Information Network launched the site, mlspinhomes.com, in October with the aim of providing its members with free leads.
