The Manitoba and Canadian real estate industries have lost one of their staunchest advocates with the death of longtime Manitoba Real Estate Association chief executive Brian Collie. "Brian's depth of character and wisdom made him an invaluable mentor to countless people in organized real estate in Manitoba and across Canada," MREA president Roberta Weiss said in a written statement issued over the Easter long weekend.

The Boston Globe reported that a dump truck struck and killed Marcia Diehl, 65, as she rode her bicycle along Putnam Avenue in Cambridge after leaving a nearby Whole Foods Market. Diehl co-founded the Boston Bisexual Women's Network.
