FairPoint asks customers for patience

For the first time since workers walked out last month, FairPoint Communications is acknowledging delays in fulfilling customer service requests and is asking its customers for patience. The company that provides telephone service and high-speed Internet service is working to eliminate the backlog of customer service requests and to mitigate the disruption caused when more than 1,700 workers in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont went on strike on Oct. 17, officials said.

Apple asks developers to focus on Wi-Fi in first Yosemite beta update

Apple has handed the first Mac OS X Yosemite update to developers for testing, and is reportedly asking them to focus on three areas, including Wi-Fi connectivity, which have been problematic for many users. The OS build is labeled as version 10.10.1 , according to a note posted on Apple's developer site, and is available currently only to registered Apple coders.

CP Railway asks judge to block Enderlin ordinance

Canadian Pacific Railway is asking a federal judge to block the city of Enderlin from enforcing an ordinance that bans trains from blocking railway crossings for more than 10 minutes. The motion for preliminary injunction says the ordinance that was enacted on Oct. 1 is unconstitutional.

Group Asks Court For Review Of PG&E's Diablo Canyon Nuclear...

AVILA BEACH, San Luis Obispo County - An environmental group asked a federal court Tuesday to review its claim that California's last operating nuclear power plant is violating federal law and should be shut down at least temporarily. In a petition filed in Washington with the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, Friends of the Earth said the Nuclear Regulatory Commission violated its own rules when it altered the operating license for the Diablo Canyon reactors.
