Testimony is expected to begin today in a $30-million lawsuit filed by the parents of an El Paso police officer who was killed when he tried to remove a ladder on Interstate 10 in East El Paso in 2012. Elsa Silex Garcia and Miguel Angel Garcia are suing Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc., and Harvey Richard Hall, the driver of the company's semi-truck that allegedly caused the collision in which Officer Miguel Angel Garcia Jr. died.

For one of our main customers ESAESTEC, we are currently looking for a Communication Officer who will give support to and will perform under the direct responsibility of the Head of ESTEC Outreach Communications Unit, activities for Belgium onsite at ESTEC . HeShe will work from ESTEC, with frequent travel to Belgium. Tasks and Responsibilities The candidate shall conduct the following tasks in accordance with the yearly ESA Communication Plan and with the priorities of the ESTEC Communication Office Manage and implement communication projects, partnerships, campaigns and events. Manage the growth of media relations including social media in particular in Belgium, but also in Estonia and the Netherlands, for ESA in general, and specifically for ESA Space Technology activities, including the maintenance of a dedicated media and VIP management database Convento. In coordination with ESA editors, work as writer of media releases, web and social media content to a consistently high standard and to short deadlines. Carry out regular qualitative research, report on communication activities and produce statistics on media coverage, including social media. Support internal communication and events at ESTEC and at the ESA Centre in Redu, Belgium, and the Brussels Office, including management of the publishing process for the ESTEC Intranet and Announcement Screens. Other administrative or organisational tasks, as and when required. Experience and education Applicants should have a Master degree, MBA or equivalent level in Communications or a related field. Candidates should possess solid professional experience in Communications Public Relations of at least 4 years, preferably in an international working environment. Interest in and good understanding of ESA Programmes and related activities. Substantial experience of working within communications or journalism. Evidence of securing positive media coverage. Excellent command of French and English, especially written. Good command of DutchFlemish and Estonian a plus. Good knowledge of the BelgiumBrussels media landscape. Good knowledge of social media and media databases. Experience in logging and evaluating media coverage. Excellent writing skills with a proven ability to convey complex ideas and technical concepts to nonspecialists. Proven ability to develop networks and build long term professional relationships with internal and external partners. A developed sense for initiative and strong organisational skills. Highly proficient in the latest versions of Microsoft Office suite, project management tools and use of databases Experience using CMS or Photoshop andor InDesign is desirable.
