The Position We are looking for someone with an excellent knowledge of Earth Observation EO Data Processing Satellite Payload Data Ground Segments PDGS concepts and software. The main responsibility is to build a section that offers a long term perspective for the staff and a sustainable and growing business for the company! As a section head you will both manage the section and participate on project activities as well, the allocation being flexible depending on the required focus. The management activity have two distinct themes Strategy and Planning. You formulate the vision and strategy with your team, inline with the direction of the company. The strategy is thereafter translated into a plan of specific actions to be taken and you manage your teams execution of this plan. The aim is long term sustainability for the business. Delivery and Team. You are responsible for the deliveries of the projects within your section. This includes resource planning both allocation and recruitment, monitoring of projects and being the supervisor of the section team. You are part of the department management team, supporting the daily operations and you will be consulted on required changes and improvements. The direct line of reporting will be to the Division Head, but you are encouraged to contribute to all parts of the organization. The section size is measured in number of staff and should be between 5 and 15. The ultimate measure of your success will be that the section will grow to a size where it will have to be split! This position is based at ESOC in Darmstadt. It is fulltime and permanent and expected starting date will be around April 2020. We are looking forward to meeting you! Provide support to andor lead payload design activities. Participate in the Payload electrical and RF performance evaluation. Write engineering documentations system requirements, SOC, verification and validation matrix, design description, systems budgets, equipment specifications, test requirements, RFDRFW. Perform system worst case analysis, inputs and support to program reviews EQSR, SRR, PDR, CDR. Payload assembly Integration and Test. Attend test reviews TRR, TRB, DRB, and NCRs. Support Payload testing EGSE, Test supervision, data analysis. Support Satellite tests at SC supplier premises. Support InOrbit Test IOT. Technical monitoring of major subcontractors Receivers, LTWTAs, Multiplexers. Support to DC RF harness design, Payload layout. Write up Payload Operations Manual. Heres the skills we need you to bring with you B.Sc Degree in electrical engineering, and 510 years experience in design. minimum experience in Communications Satellite Payloads in the satellite industry or equivalent.To fulfill the demands of design and development of new products the individual must show selfstarting instincts, an aptitude for creative synthesis, and the ability to utilize and quickly learn advanced design andor analysis techniques. Knowledge of and experience in Direct Radiating Array DRA Antenna with multiple active elements andor knowledge of digital signal processing will be considered favourably.
