Payload Integration Manager maternity leave cover

We are currently looking for a Payload Integration Manager to support our customer in the Netherlands. This is a 6 months assignment to cover the maternity leave. Payload Integration Manager Key Tasks and Responsibilities The PIM is responsible for managing all the work related to their payloads to ensure that the work is brought to completion in time for the Certification of Flight Readiness CoFR and follows up the operations and postoperations phases. As part of the Directorate of Human Spaceflight and Operations, you will have the following responsibilities Review and analyse the ESR Experiment Science Requirements, suggest changes if needed and present results to the board Report the status and the potential issues of all the payloads via the PIM report Perform research on new payloads outlining the resources required including eventual planned maintenance, changes from a startup phase through development to integration Coordinate the identification of the resolution and the possible work among the various parties in case of anomalies Check compatibility of the crew training model Provide expert advice to the USOC in the operational concept definition of payload characteristics and ISS or rack limitations. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree Msc or equivalent qualification in an engineering or science biology, medicine, physics, chemistry discipline Demonstrated experience in aerospace or human spaceflight activities management, including development, integration and onorbit operations activities of complex payloads Result oriented, good communicator with a strong stakeholder management skills Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Design of advanced payload architecture for telecoms satellites. Identification of future payload products e.g. RF, digital, optical. Development follow up which includes road mapping, choice of suppliers etc. Support advanced bid teams in cost and product evaluation in line with customer and business expectations. Mandatory skills Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline. Proven experience in advanced payload design incorporating RF and or Digital knowledge. Proven leadership experience with demonstrable evidence of influencing and negotiating at engineering, supplier and customer level. Proven project management experience across a complex transnational environment. Senior Engineer, Spacecraft Payload Ref SES0603 Region Europe Location Isle of Man Douglas Company SES Category Space Operations Position Staff Published 20150731 Context The Senior Engineer, Spacecraft Payload, will be responsible for the oversight of the companys contracts with the satellite payload manufacturers. Working closely together with the SES Spacecraft Field Offices, Space Operations and Ground Infrastructures groups, the position involves supervising the development of multiple satellite telecommunication payloads and of local ground station antennas. The candidate will need to ensure SES SLs SES Satellite Leasing best interests are protected, reviewing as appropriate milestones and timelines to ensure that contractual and programmatic targets are met. Attendance at key milestone meetings events throughout the development and manufacturing of the satellite payloads will also be required design reviews, test readiness reviews, management meetings, testing, etc.. The role will require a high level of interface with other SES departments who support these various activities. Primary Responsibilities Key Result Areas Together with the SES Field Offices, perform the oversight of SES SL payloads development and, as appropriate, attend relevant meetings and reviews with both SES internal and external stake holders spacecraft payload manufacturers, ground segment service providers, Field Offices safeguarding SES SL interests in the case of schedule or programmatic issues arising. Early detection and identification of critical problem areas throughout the design and construction phases of the satellite projects. Interface with SESinternal teams, the satellite payload manufacturers and ground segment antenna service providers as appropriate, in the management of SES SL procurement activities. Support and advise on all SES SL investment decisions related Support the management and operations of local ground station antennas. Maintain a wide satellite payload industry review and be proactive in keeping SES informed of market developments, competitive ventures and opportunities Competencies Competencies in the fields of satellite payload architecture, design and manufacturing. Ability to work on technical and programmatic issues with manufacturers, SES field office team and specialists from SES headquarters. Excellent communications skills both written and oral. Negotiation skills, assertiveness and ability to seek working solutions within program constraints. Selfmotivated and capable to work both independently and within a team. Strong ability to establish good business relationships with various internal and external stakeholders from multidisciplinary backgrounds.
