Flame graph shows system performance in a new light
2013-11-08 20:44:14| InfoWorld: Top News
The person who became known on the Internet for yelling at servers is now becoming famous for another, somewhat related, feat, creating a new type of data visualization for characterizing system performance. Brendan Gregg, lead performance engineer at cloud provider Joyent, has developed a visualization technique called a flame graph that can be effective for charting how system resources such as CPUs and memory are used. It has subsequently been picked up by a number of engineers who have used it to enhance popular diagnostic tools such as DTrace and Windows XPerf.

Robotic Tracking System increases solar power plant performance.
2013-07-16 14:31:11| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today
Via flexible and versatile communication network, Robotic Tracking System (RTS) supports international and domestic frequencies and can coordinate and control activities of multiple robots. SolBot R-225, available for RTS, can manage 340 kW of solar panels. Tracking rail consists of 2 preassembled pieces, enabling it to be snapped together on site. With its robotic approach, RTS eliminates hundreds of stationary motors as well as substantial steel and concrete in solar power plants.
