Moreover, we actively manage your professional development, training and career progression. For the location in Darmstadt Germany we are looking for a System Software Integration and Test Engineer. Tasks This position is an engineering role involving software verification and validation activities. Tasks will be executed whenever necessary onsite at ESOC, using the technical installations available in the infrastructure integration and test facilities. The main tasks involve Setup and maintenance of the Integration and Test reference environment and relevant configuration Installation and integration of infrastructure application releases Creation and maintenance of virtual machines containing a collection of infrastructure applications Creation and maintenance of test databases, containing the static and dynamic data required to perform the systems validation activities Installation, configuration, test, validation, verification, debugging of ESOC infrastructure applications MICONYS, SIMULUS, TEVALIS, DABYS, EUD, Ground Station Back End Data Systems Participation in Progress Meeting and Reviews Review of technical documentation and verification of compliance to the applicable requirements Production and maintenance of technical documentation, including test plans and test reports Collaboration with the OPSG Technical Officers for the acceptance tests activities of the main systems deliveries and patches Definition and execution of manual and automated test cases Measurement of systems Performance Production of test reports documenting the outputs of the systems acceptance test activities. Essential requirements Knowledge required includes Competence in one or more modern computer languages such as C, C, Java, UML, XML, SQL, depending on the requirements of the work, Familiarity with modern software development environments and systems, including GUIbased MMIs, familiarity with object oriented analysis, design programming Competence in C optionally in JAVA Familiarity with UNIX or LINUX environments Knowledge of the CORBA Standard Knowledge and experience in Database administration Knowledge and experience in Software engineering and documentation Communication engineering knowledge should be also required for tasks in TCPIP, UDP, IEEE488, Web technology including related protocols. Good familiarity with the ESOC infrastructure applications listed in the task description Other Information Start date is as soon as possible. Tasks and Responsibilities As CDF System and Software Engineer you will provide system engineering support to the Galileo System and Platform activities, reporting to the Galileo Space Segment Infrastructure Manager. This includes support to Satellite Qualification and Acceptance for launch as well as In Orbit Infrastructure and Operations. You will contribute in particular to the following areas Participation to Satellite Acceptance Reviews, Flight Readiness Reviews, Launch Readiness Reviews Operations Reviews etc. Participation to the Platform Commissioning Phases of the Galileo FOC Satellites Participation to the In Orbit Testing Phases of the Galileo FOC Satellites and coordination of Payload Specialist Support Support to the resolution of Inflight Payload anomalies of all Galileo Satellites in Orbit including participation to, and preparation for, relevant NRBs and ARBs Assistance in the resolution of anomalies between the system ground segmentoperations interface to Payload Units of Galileo satellites in Orbit including participation to, and preparation for, relevant NRBs and ARBs Support to In Orbit Maintenance activities including preparation and implementation of changes Monitoring and identification of trends of critical Galileo Satellite parameters. Requirements As successful candidate you should bring a Master Degree in a relevant discipline and have a good knowledge and proven experience in spacecraft systems in project phases and in particular late and operational phases, as well as in mission design and analysis. You should have demonstrated capabilities to work in space projects with complex technical and industrial interfaces and minimum 4 years of experience in satellite activities and more specifically in satellite system activities. The position involves some travel, mainly within Europe. You must be eligible to obtain security clearance by their national security administration. Being already in possession of security clearance will be considered an asset for the selection. Test Product System Engineer software and hardware electronics Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is an independent Danish company recognized in satellite test systems, software, independent software verification and validation activities, onsite engineering support and power electronics. Their software systems have been utilized for onboard, checkout, ground station, simulation and in many other critical space related domains. You will be part of our project teams, where your primary responsibilities will be system design and configuration and supervision and followup during the subsequent manufacturing, assembly, integration and test phases until requirement closeout and shipment of the final product. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Many years of relevant working experience in the field of system engineering or handson experience working with digital and analogue systems design and development from inception and design to full customer deployment Handson experience with lowlevel SW development VHDL, C, C, embedded Linux Handson experience with TCPIP protocols and higher level languages Java, C or equivalent Experience with system testing, requirements closeout, product deployment and training Fluency in English is mandatory.
