New efforts to increase the number of cars and trucks that run on compressed natural gas were proposed by President Barack Obama and the auto industry is showing increasing interest in the technology. Obamas proposal is fuel neutral, allowing the private sector to determine if biofuels, electrification, natural gas, hydrogen, or other alternative fuels would be the best fit in different communities, the White House said in a fact sheet.
