Yarn prices have risen further in the past week in India, where cotton prices have dropped over a significant rise in arrivals this season and a lack of official buying. Cotton yarn exports have risen in October, thanks to the lower prices. Our weekly review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester, and 100% viscose. Major yarn production centers are covered with Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) and Ludhiana (Punjab). Yarn prices are compared with fiber prices, and offering the latest trends of spinners' margins.

The gross margins of 100% PSF yarn producers have suffered in the past weeks in China, as their raw material costs were bottoming out. The yarn/fiber spread has rebounded in the past months, in India and Pakistan, by contrast. Our monthly report compares polyester staple fiber prices and polyester spun yarn prices in China, India, and Pakistan, in both local currency terms and US$ terms. The fall of Chinese shipments in the first three quarters of 2019 has benefited most other origins, although China retained a double-digit market share for nearly all apparel categories. Vietnam and Cambodia have been the clear winners of the period, with South Asia remaining strong in cotton categories, as reflected by our data. Our series of statistical tables offer a comprehensive comparison of volume, value, and unit value changes per origin and product category in the first three quarters of 2019. The report also includes a detailed comparison of Chinese price trends vs. other origins, through a series of indexes. India delays bill and keep system to 2021, to consider telecom price floor

(Telecompaper) Indian regulator Trai has delayed a plan to move to zero termination rates for mobile-to-mobile calls. The rates were planned to end in January but will now continue at the same level of 6 cents per minute until the end of 2020. The new deadline is 01 January 2021 to move to a 'bill and keep' system.
