Polyester prices have stayed firm in the last seven days in China, where they are supported by slightly higher intermediate prices. Demand is dwindling from downward processors in the textile industry, however. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) on the domestic markets in China, India, and Pakistan. Cotton yarn prices are no more rising in India, whereas cotton fiber prices are bottoming out, over larger state buying. Profits have recovered in the past weeks at spinning mills, however. Our weekly review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester, and 100% viscose. Major yarn production centers are covered with Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) and Ludhiana (Punjab).
