An anti-Islam group filed a civil rights lawsuit against New York City's Metropolitan Transportation Authority on Wednesday for refusing to run a so-called "Hamas Killing Jews" advertisement on city busses, the group's attorney said. The American Freedom Defense Initiative claims the state agency violated its constitutional rights by turning down advertisements that included the slogan, "Killing Jews is worship that draws us close to Allah - Hamas MTV," the lawyer said.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on Monday sued Memphis-based AutoZone Inc. , accusing the retailer of allowing sexual harassment to go unchecked at a Cordova store.

Brothers behind Lap-Band ads sued

UnitedHealth Group Inc. has sued two brothers who ran a company that promoted Lap-Band weight-loss surgery, accusing the pair of defrauding the insurer of more than $40 million through a complex billing scheme. The Los Angeles Times reports Thursday that the suit claims the network of surgery centers run by Michael and Julian Omidi tricked the insurer into paying claims for medical procedures that were unnecessary, ineligible for coverage or never even performed.
GAF Materials Corporation Sued by EEOC for Disability Discrimination

GAF Materials Corporation, a roofing materials manufacturer headquartered in Wayne, N.J., unlawfully terminated a disabled worker from its Savannah facility when it refused to allow him to exercise his seniority rights to "bump" junior employees, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission charged in a lawsuit filed recently. According to the EEOC's lawsuit, GAF's contract with the United Steelworkers Union included a provision that allowed senior employees to remain employed by "bumping" less senior employees in any layoff situation.
