Cloud Technical Analyst Category Information Technology City Leatherhead, Surrey, United Kingdom Position ID J07151496 Permanent Full Time Position Description The Earth Observation EO sector of CGIs Space Business unit is seeking a Technical Analyst with strong experience of Cloud, Virtualisation and related technologies, to support our growing EO business. The successful candidate will work on a range of projects and proposals to leverage these technologies in support of the exploitation of EO satellite data for different enduser applications. The successful applicant will be expected to understand and lead the detailed design, implementation, testing and documentation of cloudbased solutions for exploitation of satellite data. The role will also include leading the investigation, troubleshooting and resolution of anomalies in these systems. The candidate will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to understand enduser requirements and devise creative solutions in response, and an ability to work to high standards of quality, and to agreed timescales independently or as part of a team. Essential skillsexperience At least 2 years experience of working with cloud technologies OpenStackOpenNebula or any other cloud platform At least 3 years experience of software development using programming languages like Java or C Experience in working or developing applications using cloud APIs from one or more public cloud providers Experience of using open source technologies and tools Extensive knowledge of RESTful APIs Good knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, Python, PHP etc. Good experience of Linux systems Good knowledge of TCPIP LANWAN networking technologies and troubleshooting techniques Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare, KVM Highly desirable skillsexperience Experience with workflow management systems like Taverna Experience with Docker, Hadoop MapReduce, iPython. Air New Zealand has delayed Wednesday's flight to Bali as volcanic ash continues to erupt from Mount Raung on an Indonesian island. Flight NZ245 was scheduled to depart Auckland at 4.30pm Wednesday but has been delayed until 8am Thursday, Air New Zealand said.
