Mass. pending home sales up for 22nd straight month

Pending sales of single-family homes in Massachusetts rose in December for the 22nd consecutive month on a year-over-year basis. The Massachusetts Association of Realtors reported Wednesday that 3,096 single-family homes had come under agreement last month, up 28.7 percent from the 2,406 under agreement in December 2013.
2014 home sales up in Jefferson, Lewis counties; St. Lawrence County sales fall, but median price up

After getting off to a slow start in the first quarter because of last year's long winter, real estate sales in Jefferson and Lewis counties rebounded during the rest of 2014, with the number of homes sold exceeding 2013 totals. “We were down from last year by 35 homes at the beginning of the year in Jefferson County, but each quarter increased after that,” said Lance M. Evans, executive officer for the Jefferson-Lewis Board of Realtors and the St. Lawrence County Board of Realtors.
Charlotte-area home sales rise 15 percent in December

Charlotte-area home sales rose 15.7 percent in December from the same month a year ago, even as the supply of homes for sale plunged to its lowest level of the year, according to a report Thursday. The region saw 3,050 closings last month, an increase of 415 sales from December 2013, the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association said in its monthly report on existing-home sales.

U.S. pending home sales rise modestly in November

Contracts to buy previously owned U.S. homes rose only modestly in November, pointing to a still-sluggish housing market despite several months of stronger economic growth and hiring. The National Association of Realtors said on Wednesday its Pending Home Sales Index, based on contracts signed last month, gained 0.8 percent to 104.8. The NAR also revised its index in October to a slightly lower level.
