XTO Energy Parade of Lights bringing holiday spirit to downtown Fort Worth Nov. 28

On Friday, November 28, 2014, hundreds of illuminated floats and tens of thousands of North Texans will fill the streets of downtown Fort Worth for the 32nd annual XTO Energy Parade of Lights. First staged in 1983, Fort Worth's signature parade has grown to become Texas' largest illuminated holiday procession, with nearly 100 professionally-designed-and-produced floats , brilliant antique cars, lively marching bands, precision equestrian units, decorated horse-drawn carriages, and casts of strolling carolers prancing through the 1.58-mile parade route.

Southwest will add nonstops from KCI to LaGuardia, Fort Myers

Editorial: With completion of Tower 55, Fort Worth will remain major rail hub

FORT WORTH, Texas - Through a cooperative effort of industry and the state and federal governments, a $104 million project to remedy the problems of the 141-year-old intersection has been completed. BNSF Railway and Union Pacific Railroad provided $65 million of the funding for the project that significantly improves the flow of traffic through what once was a chokepoint for the 110 freight and passenger trains that pass through daily.

Completion of Tower 55 will ease train congestion in Fort Worth

Stepping carefully around the muddy freight railroad tracks near downtown, dozens of federal, state and local officials gathered Friday to celebrate the completion of a $104 million project known as Tower 55. The project, partly funded with $65 million from Fort Worth-based BNSF Railway and Omaha, Neb.-based Union Pacific Railroad, included the addition of a third north-south rail line running down the eastern edge of downtown. Also, several pedestrian and car crossings near downtown were revamped, including crossings near Nash Elementary School.
