Manager Media Platform Solutions mwd Germany Munich Unterfhring Role Description Summary Solution Management of end2end products provided as turnkey solution to video customers and platform operators, whereat the dedicated solution components will be provided by internal or external service companies. The role is especially focused on defining innovative and strategically relevant solutions to support market requirements and customer needs in the area of Video solutions over satellite, OTT and hybrid Consumer Premises Equipment low end and high end DTH, OTT and hybrid devices Accompanying solutions to monetize a video service e.g.business support and subscriber management systems Main task is to map market requirements into detailed requirements and manage the development, implementation and maintenance of the concrete solution manage product lifecycle for media platform solutions coordinate internal and external stakeholders Sales, Marketing, Communication, Development, Operation, Strategy, Finance develop a Media Platforms ecosystem of applications, devices and services e.g. including audience measurement, ad integration manage commercial performance PL of individual solutions and ensure flexible commercialisation by providing scalability with a modular solution concept coordinate activities across SES Video, Media Solutions and MX1 The availability of such media platform solutions will be the precondition to ensure the successful commercialisation to media platform customer. Primary Responsibilities Key Result Areas Responsibility Solution Life Cycle Management in the area of media platform video solutions Transfer solution requirements to Development, Engineering Operation Transfer solution knowhow and coordinate GoToMarket approach towith Sales Management of projects and structured approach of multiple partner management. Management of contracts with technical service providers. Management of strategic media platform solution roadmap according to the worldwide stateoftheart development of video applications for end customers. Key result The technical solution composed of several modular components across the video value chain matching the specified media platform customer requirements and developed according within agreed framework of budget and time Competencies Users and endcustomers advocate with focus to reach unparalleled user experience with indepth understanding of the commercial and technical background of satellite and online video services. Formulating strategic visions with expertise for stateoftheart solutions and future trends. Ability to assess technical feasibilities in relation to available resources and available time. Capabilities for decisionmaking, constructive communication, progressive leadership and team motivation. Ability to understand complex technical relationships and ability to transform extensive dependencies to clear and coherent presentations. Skill to define solutions and products and the related execution planning with the development and operations teams. Decisiveness, flexibility and selfmotivation, ability to set clear targets. Multitasking and MultiProject abilities. Convincing appearance and ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and written in English and German. Qualification Experience Master Degree in the area of Media Management with career focus on business performance and innovative product management for consumer electronics, internet and the VideoTV industry. Creative and technically savvy Manager with several years work experience of creating and launching products in the telecommunication and electronic media industry. Adept at defining, developing, and launching products, with a track record of leveraging agile principles in development. Proven ability to define product vision and strategy, with strong commercial awareness and business acumen. Demonstrated strengths as interface for Product Development, technical Operations, Product Marketing and Sales organizations. Background in future communication and entertainment services, consumer electronics and content security. Strong experience in managing and working collaboratively in virtual teams with distributed units and collaboration with international companies. Senior Solutions Engineer,Regional United States Princeton, New Jersey The incumbent is responsible for technical proposal elaboration for infrastructure and media services, support technical contract negotiations and validations, carry out technical analysis on potential or existing customer services and contractual committing satellite link performances. Emphasis is on the integrated teamwork approach by providing technical pre sales support tasks and post sales support on dedicated customer accounts. All technical solutions and services provided by SES are generated, validated and implemented through the Solution Engineering team, ensuring highest efficiency, technical excellence and optimized use of the groups assets. The incumbent provides a fundamental role in the sales acquisition and service delivery process ensuring the sales revenue targets. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Drives the prequalification technical due diligence of new regional sales opportunities and the preparation of technical, infrastructure and media services proposals in response to customers service requirements, RFIs and RFPs Supports the Solution Engineering team during customer meetings and contract negotiations, works closely with the senior team members on major customer projects, and support by coordinating activities and drafting proposals. Offers technical solutions and indepth expertise during customer meetings and contract negotiations and represents the company during regional trade conferences and exhibitions. Provides the inputs to support the design and development of new products and contributes to competitor analysis Valueadded digital media solutions for content management and delivery Oversight of the assignment of customer services on the satellites and the optimization of satellite resources including the planning activities associated with replacement satellite transitions, service restoration plans and the development of new satellites and new satellite neighborhoods Translates contractually agreed SLAs into QoS, coordinates with customers, Commercial Operations and SES Engineering for the resolution of operational problems, and interfaces with the Global Service Delivery teams and other internal stakeholders to ensure that customer service support meets the expectations during the entire service lifecycle Supports the development and introduction of new business processes and the development and introduction of software applications Selfsufficient, requiring minimal supervision, works independently and is technically accountable in the region Generates technical training material and provides training sessions on relevant SES technical environment and services, towards regional team members and new recruits Coaches other technical team members in their skills development and progression . COMPETENCIES Ability to combine commercial savviness with technical expertise in order to efficiently assist the sales organization Proactive attitude, think outside the box and continuously try to find ways to improve the level of support Technical competencies OTT OVP practical knowledge at the functional and component levels incl and not limited Applications, Private CDN and Origin analysis, Ad delivery technology etc. Good presentation techniques and effective sales proposal skills. Ability to work effectively in structured or virtual teams Ability to build and maintain relationships as well as the ability to gain a clear understanding of the customers businesses and requirements in order to be able to offer the customer bespoke advice upon forthcoming product developments or services that could lead to new sales andor to service optimizations Ongoing knowledge and understanding of the market and developments in the customer base Good cultural understanding of variances within the region and as such the differences in market settings, customers expectations requirements QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE University or engineering degree BSc, MSc in telecommunications or related field At least 5 years of professional experience in relevant field Willingness to work in stress peaks and with remote colleagues in a global environment. Experience in satellite transmission analysis and solution engineering is an asset Experience in broadcasting technologies, content preparation and management, network architecture access schemes, data networking and engineering software development. Knowledge of the audiovisual media industry, Broadcasting technologies, DVB, OTT, IP, VoD, Practical knowledge at the design of OTTOVP systems Basic commercial understanding skills. Knowledge of satellite technology, standards and market trends for satellite communications, RF technology and equipment, communication protocols Fluency in additional languages is beneficial Willingness to travel Whats in it for you?
