Johnson & Johnson today announced that its affiliate Janssen Therapeutics, Division of Janssen Products, LP , has signed a Memorandum of Understanding representing the intention of the Company along with the United States Agency for International Development to step up the fight against the health threat of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Antimicrobial resistance and specifically that seen in multidrug-resistant tuberculosis is one of the world's most serious public health threats.

Bunge Ltd, one of the world's largest agricultural trading houses, sees no signs that Russia will limit wheat exports as some traders have feared, the company's managing director of global agribusiness said on Wednesday. "Today we have not seen any intervention and we have no signs that anything is about to happen," Brian Thomsen, who leads Bunge's agribusiness operations, said in a webcast of a company presentation.

The world's second leading infectious cause of blindness, river blindness is a neglected tropical disease caused by a filarial worm.
