Job Description We are looking for an experienced Flight Dynamics engineer to join a team which primarily supports EXOMARS RSP, Euclid launch preparation, LEOP support and operations, and BepiColombo operations. Services shall also be provided related to GAIA, Mars Express, ExoMars TGO, JUICE, Hera and Solar Orbiter. The general activities to be supported depending on the phase of the mission are the following and shall be provided on the Flight Dynamics compute platform ORATOS Test and Validation Execution of operational tasks Validation of operational Flight Dynamics data products such as command parameter sets, reports, event predictions and acquisition data before delivery to Flight Control Team and other users Validation of operational Flight Dynamics subsytems processes and procedures Flight Dynamics Application Layer primarily in the TVA domain Maintenance and sustaining of software elements of the Flight Dynamics Application Layer. Flight Dynamics System Development primarily in the TVA domain Specification of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Implementation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Installation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements on operational platforms design, coordination and implementation of tests Definition, planning and participation in tests Setup procedures Flight Dynamics SubSystem configuration Mandatory Requirements Minimum of 3 years experience University degree in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics or physics. Very good skills in linear algebra, in particular for problem solving related to geometry in the Euclidean 3dimensional space. Being familiar with different representations of rotation in 3D, thus including the representation of SC attitude cosine direction matrix, Euler symmetric parameters quaternions, Eulerangles, etc. Very good skills in calculus in one or several variables. You will primarily support and execute launch preparation, LEOP and operational tasks for upcoming missions like ExoMars RSP, Juice and Euclid in close collaboration with other specialists. Further services might be required for Gaia, Bepi Colombo, Mars Express, ExoMars TGO, Hera and Solar Orbiter. The available service positions cover the full variety of flight dynamics orbit determination, trajectory optimisation, command generation and attitude determination as well as test and validation. In addition, you will invent and implement improvements and additions to existing software elements for computation of the dynamical behaviour of satellites, typically on Linux workstations and mainly using the C programming language. You will install the software on the operational platforms and design, coordinate and perform the testing. Furthermore you will participate in system tests and mission simulation campaigns, contribute to space studies, and coordinate internal and external interfaces and activities across subsystems.
